What we Offer
 Riverside
at Ambleside is a beautiful Victorian country house beside
the River Rothay, on a quiet lane a short stroll from the
lively centre of the village. We welcome you to our relaxed
and stylish home.
Breakfasts are informal, offering a traditional freshly cooked
English grill, fruit, croissant, vegetarian and smoked salmon alternatives,
fruit teas and fresh coffee. We also are licenced and fine
wines and beer are available at very reasonable prices.
 We have six attractive and comfortable en-suite bedrooms,
one with a four-poster bed and spa bath and one with a "wet room" with underfloor heating. They all have televisions, alarms and tea and coffee making facilities. Riverside also offers WiFi enabled Internet access, DVD players and a DVD library. All rooms have fine
views of the river or garden. In addition Riverside uses local suppliers and produce - our sausage and bacon is from the award winning butchers,
Claytons of Ambleside and our teas and coffee from Farrers
of Kendal. We use hand made sauces and preserves from Hawkshead
Relish Company and Chesters By The River at Skelwith Bridge. We also provide drying facilities and secure storage for cycles. For that special occasion,
we can also arrange to have champagne, flowers or chocolates in your room when you arrive.
There
is ample parking at the Riverside. From the house there is
nearby access nearby to Loughrigg Fell, which offers spectacular
views of Windermere, Rydal Water, Grasmere and many of the

room and lounge, which has a good collection of local maps
and guides. The lounge is also perfect for relaxing with views
of our garden and the river beyond.
